We must protect our legend & history

‘Mha’ in Newari stands for ‘body’. ‘Peeth’ in Sanskrit stands for a ‘sacred place’. Thus, a combination of two terminology ‘Mha Peeth’ gives a sense of a sacred place existing in our body. However, it is believed that after a long use of Mha Peeth in the local tongues, the people felt easy to call ‘Mhayepee’ for Mha Peeth. It is also called Mhayepi
Ajima.
